ACADEMIC CHALLENGE TEAM

The academic challenge team is comprised of students who apply to participate on our team. Every year, our Academic Challenge Team competes against teams at other high schools, engaging in trivia to win the academic challenge bowl!

BETA CLUB

The National Beta Club is an organization for 4th through 12th grade students in the United States. Its purpose is "to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service among elementary and secondary school students."  The South Pointe chapter of the National Beta Club is open to students in all grades who meet the eligibility requirements, submit an application, have a desire to serve the community and continually display academic excellence.

DRAMA CLUB

The drama club is open to all South Pointe students and serves as the core membership of the Stallion Repertory Theatre, which encompasses the theatre classes of South Pointe and the extracurricular productions of plays, musicals, and variety shows. We hold monthly meetings for everyone interested in joining that includes information on upcoming events and opportunities for involvement, as well as theatre games. E-SPORTS

E-sports is a form of sport competition using video games. E-sports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams.

ENGINEERING & ROBOTICS CLUB

The South Pointe Engineering & Robotics team engages in STEAM activities by building robots and using them to perform a variety of tasks. Students in this club will build robots to compete in local and regional competitions, and even have a chance to compete at the national level!

General Council is a branch of Student Council for students who wish to serve in a non-elected capacity. Any student can be a member of General Council. As a member of General Council you are invited to monthly meetings to voice your concerns and opinions on school matters. Additionally, you are offered the opportunity to volunteer and assist with activities planned by the Student Council elected officers.

IMPULSE LITERARY MAGAZINE

The Creative Writing 2 Literary Magazine staff focuses on the art of crafting a piece for publication through the integration of a workplace model. The students engage in the craft and phases of reading, mentoring, experimenting/revising, and editing. The Award Winning Impulse Literary Magazine is a source of pride for our school and has been published continuously for over a decade. The magazine features visual art, photography, poetry, stories, and plays, and has won awards from the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association. An entirely student-produced magazine, its design, layout, editing, and submissions all happen because of dedicated student writers, artist, editors, and designers.

INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY

The South Pointe chapter of the International Thespian Society entitles membership in the honor society of high school theatre throughout the world. Members are invited for induction in May of each year, and eligibility is based on the accumulation of Thespian points by the time of the induction ceremony. JUNIOR CIVITANS

Junior Civitans International is a student-led service organization for middle and high school students. There are 11,000 Junior Civitans members in 400 clubs in North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. It is the longest lasting project of its parent organization Civitan International.

NHS is an academic service club open only to Juniors and Seniors that maintain a 4.0 GPA. Members must adhere to NHS's four pillars: leadership, scholarship, service, and character. Members must also keep up with service hours every year in order to maintain membership and receive their cord at graduation.

PROGENY is a multi-cultural service organization at South Pointe.  The purpose of PROGENY is to make students at South Pointe High school realize we live in a culturally diverse country that often devalues the contributions of our multicultural population.PROGENY will highlight the positive contributions of the many cultures represented on our campus through cultural assemblies, activities, and initiatives.  Through learning about these cultures, our club hopes to enrich South Pointe’s knowledge and to remove stereotypes or prejudgments that student’s may have about cultures

The SPIN news magazine, the SPIN TV broadcast, and SPIN Wired student online news and social media program. Convergence Media in South Pointe offers a way to learn about communication and technology together, while producing real-world products for a genuine audience. The SPIN Convergence Media program has won numerous awards at the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association.

Gospel Choir brings together students of diverse cultures and beliefs who possess a love of Gospel music. Students are able to share their gifts through performances throughout the school district and community. The Gospel Choir provides a safe place for expression and acceptance. Students develop musical skills and are exposed to the history behind the genre of Gospel music.

The STAMPEDE is South Pointe's very own student section for all home football and basketball games! Led by the elected Student Section Leader, the STAMPEDE is responsible for creating cheers, painting up, running the South Pointe flags, and much more! STUDENTS AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS (SADD)

Students in this club attempt to promote their peers to make better/safer/healthier decisions. We host activities such as Socktober, Red Ribbon Week, Prom Promise, as well as our annual Blood Drives. Any students are welcome to join us on Thursdays after school in Room B121!
